Privacy Policy

Last updated July 2026

The Homeschool Edit™ ("we", "us") is built by a homeschool family, for homeschool families. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it. We do not sell your personal information.

1. Information you give us

  • Account information: your name, email address, and password credentials.
  • Billing information: processed by our payment provider; we never store full card numbers.
  • Communications: messages you send us through the contact form or by email.

2. Student information

You may add student profiles containing a first name or nickname, grade level, learning preferences, attendance, reading logs, and completed work. This information is used only to personalize your family's experience inside your account.

Student information is never sold, never used for advertising, and is not shared with other families. As the parent or guardian, you decide what to enter and can delete it at any time.

3. Uploaded files

Curriculum documents, images, and other files you upload are stored securely and used to personalize lessons and resources for your family. You can delete uploads from your media library at any time.

4. AI interactions

When you use AI features, the prompt and relevant context (such as a student's grade level or curriculum you uploaded) are sent to our AI providers to generate a response. We do not permit our providers to use your family's content to train public models.

AI conversations and generated content are stored in your account so you can revisit them, and can be deleted by you.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember preferences, plus privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are helpful. See our Cookie Policy for details.

6. Payment processing

Payments and subscriptions are handled by our payment processor. They receive the billing details necessary to process your subscription. We receive only the information needed to manage your membership status, such as plan, renewal date, and payment outcome.

7. Data storage and security

Data is stored with reputable cloud infrastructure providers, encrypted in transit, and access is restricted to what is required to operate the service. No online service can promise perfect security, but we treat your family's information as if it were our own.

8. Your rights

  • Access the information associated with your account.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate.
  • Export or request a copy of your content.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Opt out of marketing email at any time using the unsubscribe link.

9. Account deletion

You may request deletion at any time by emailing us from your account address. We remove your account and associated content from active systems promptly, and from routine backups within 30 days, except where we are required to retain records (for example, billing history).

10. Children's privacy

Accounts are created and controlled by a parent or guardian. Children do not create their own accounts, and we do not knowingly collect information directly from children.

11. Changes and contact

If this policy changes materially we'll let members know by email. Questions? Reach us through the contact page.
